GALA DAY CANCELED DUE TO BAD WEATHER!

Drumchapel United Gala Day.
The Drumchapel United Gala day will now likely take place next June as the season comes to a close. It was disappointing not to be able to hold it recently but the weather was poor and the correct decision was made to postpone.

Each Drumchapel United team will compete in a series of skills sessions keeping their scores to compare against other teams in their category. The teams with the most points will be declared the winners. Also the keepers who have the least scored against them will also be given prizes.

Dont miss out on the first gala day of its kind in Drumchapel. There will also be a bouncy castle for spectators (children of course). At Lunch time there will be a beat the goalkeeper competition, Crossbar Challenge, and a flicks and tricks section.

Lucozade Sport are also sponsoring the event in Drumchapel and will have their van at the entrance gate to the pitches.

Drumchapel United hoping to participate in Glasgow City Cup 2010. Use this tournament as a pre-season warm-up to prepare for the start of the new campaign. Play trialists and try and gel the squad. Last year the U13's, 16's, 17's and 21's competed in the tournament with the 21's winning the event and the 13's reaching the final. The 17's were unlucky beaten semi-finalists. Next years event will include a soccer 7's age group that should support our younger teams from U12 and below.

The Rangers Youth Invitational tournament is also available for Drumchapel Utd team to apply for. The current U17s have experienced three successful campaigns at the tournament.
