Premier League Champions

Drumchapel United have lifted the Premier League title for the first time in the clubs Under 21's history. In a league campaign that saw the side undefeated away from home and only losing one league match all season, few could argue that the side did not deserve their crown.

On the cup front the side reached the quarter final of the Scottish Cup where they lost narrowly 2-1 at home to eventual winners Celtic Boys Club, and the Semi Final of the Golden Goals Cup where they lost to eventual winners South Camlachie. Knightswood Juveniles and Campsie Black Watch were the winners in the other two cup competitions, the Trophy Centre League cup and the West of Scotland Cup respectively.

The side had a team building camping trip to the Trossachs in September and then jetted off to Magaluf in Easter for a break that was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone that attended.

In May, 5 of the current squad represented Alan Rough's Real Radio Legends match against Derek Johnston's select. Tommy MacFarlane, Nicky Docherty, Ian Gold, Lee Mitchell and Ryan Tiffney all took part in the match with Tiff grabbing a hat-trick in the 3-3 draw. Roughie's side won on penalties with Nicky and Tommy on target from the spot.

The season was clinched with a comprehensive 4-0 victory away to Knightswood Juveniles, the sides heaviest defeat of their rivals, followed by a 3-2 away win at St Peters. The trophy was lifted the following week after their home match against Tower Hearts.

Next season hopes to be just as exciting with hopefully more silverware to follow.

Special thanks to Lee Mitchell, Paul Duncanson, Franky Smyth, Ian Gold and Douglas Shaw for their service to the club. Everyone at Drumchapel United wish the 5 players all the very best in their football careers after life with the club
