Drumchapel United were formed in 2001 but many will remember them as Cardross Rock A.F.C.or Knightswood Amateurs F.C.
John Black was currently running Drumchapel Star and an approach was made to John to amalgimate both clubs and rename the new club Drumchapel United.
John has been involved in amateur football for almost 20 years as a manager, and due to Johns easy going attitude and nature he has been able to attract a lot of promising youngsters and experienced players to the club.
Although Drumchapel United is a young team historically, through Johns hard work and perciverience he has now established the club to be one of the giants of the amateur game.

This season the side have won the treble by claiming the West of Scotland Cup, the Cinema Cup as well as the Premier Division Championship.
